The Airbus A321neo LR entered the AirAsia X fleet in 2026. It provides seating for 236 passengers in a single class high density layout. The Airbus A321LR is the long-range version of the A321neo, built for extended narrow-body routes. It uses extra fuel tanks and other changes to increase range while keeping the same efficient, modern single-aisle design. Airlines use it to open routes that would otherwise need a larger wide-body aircraft.

The high density seating layout is for 236 passengers in a 3+3 arrangement. The sleek leather seats have a tight seat pitch of 28-29" (71-74cm) but exit row seats offer more legroom if needed. USB ports are installed in the armrest tips and the tray tables include a device holder. There are galleys and lavatories at either end of the cabin. The aft lavatories are smaller than the one at the front.
